DID YOU KNOW?
The citizens of Arizona now have another choice in deciding the best
way to handle their legal affairs. On January 16, 2003 an
Administrative Order of the Arizona Supreme Court was adopted
establishing the Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer Program.
WHY WAS THIS DONE?
According to the Arizona Constitution the judicial power of our state
is to be vested in "a supreme court." The Administrative Order
establishing the Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer Program was
the result of a petition filed by the State Bar of Arizona, to the
Arizona Supreme Court, proposing an amendment to the Supreme Court Rule
which governs the practice of law in the State of Arizona. This
Rule is known as Rule 31, Rules of the Supreme Court. Recognizing
the public's need for access to affordable legal services the Arizona
Supreme Court established provisions for the certification of Legal
Document Preparers.
